You're probably in the wrong place

Our guess is you're looking for the official website of the Wichita Wings. That would make sense. After all, this is wichitawings.com. Logic and reason would dictate you're in the right place. Rest assured, you are not. How can this be? Why kind of joke is this? We've attempted to answer these types of questions below. Why isn't wichitawings.com the 'official' site of the Wings? Well for starters, it appears that the new club is just not that web savvy. We bought this domain back in 2008 (long before there was a new team) with the idea of selling retro Wings t-shirts and creating a fan site. In early 2011, the MISL announced that Wink Hartman would bring a new 'Wings' team to Wichita. We, like most people, assumed the new team would want our domain name and we were quite happy to turn it over to them - free of charge. However, Wink Hartman and the new management have chosen to go with a different domain name. Why? Frankly, your guess is as good as ours. In the end, they chose to go with a domain so long and complicated, you'd probably forget it before you finished typing it. Wait, did you just say you'd give the new team the domain for free? Yes. Really? Free? Yes and yes. What are your plans with this domain? Won't it be confusing for fans looking for the real website?' Since 2008 we've been in the business of selling retro Wings t-shirts (with the original logo) in order to drum up interest in our beloved Wings. With the new team in place, we're shutting down the t-shirt business so that fans will purchase new gear with the new logo straight from the club. Given all of the above, there are no future plans for this website. This site will remain in it's current state until it's turned over to the new team. Yes, we assume it will be extremely confusing for fans. At the end of the day, we're lifelong Wings fans and only want to see the club succeed. Posting these questions is meant to alleviate any confusion fans may have. If you're such a big fan, why don't you just give the domain to the new team for free? Man, we knew no one was reading this. We can tell by the amount of email we get daily that people hate reading websites.
